There are so many heavy hearts in the OKC music community this morning. Tony Mac was a one-of-a-kind human being. He was kind-hearted, a talented musician, crazy in the best possible way and cooler than just about anyone I knew. When I got to know him, he was about to face one of the biggest challenges of his life ... before cancer entered the picture. I was just blown away by the positive attitude he had about it. Honestly, it was a big lesson for me.
We bonded immediately ... he did that with a lot of people, but it feels no less special. I loved him. He loved me. He loved his friends and he never failed to let us know that. He absolutely LOVED and adored his wife (his hero) and his beautiful daughter. He loved music. He loved growing things ... from his heirloom tomatoes to his Purdy Buds.
He kept music piping outside for his plants.
I'll always treasure the music we made together and the conversations we had.
Rest in peace, T-Mac. You are "home being good like you should".
